Meet Emily Wahlgren, LGPC, NCC: Therapist and Testing Therapist

The Therapist who gets that one size never fits all

Ms. Emily Wahlgren brings something special to both therapy and psychological testing in Washington, DC. As a Licensed Graduate Professional Counselor under the supervision of Mr. Schuyler Cunningham and Dr. Lauren Horton, she provides a full range of services: ADHD assessments, ADHD therapy, therapy for anxiety, and therapy for depression.

Her comprehensive training means you’re working with someone who understands both the testing process and the therapeutic journey that often follows. As a Certified Clinical Trauma Professional and Certified Clinical Anxiety Treatment Professional, Emily sees the intricate connections between trauma, anxiety, and ADHD in both assessment and treatment.

Emily’s approach is refreshingly personal. She knows that ADHD doesn’t exist in a vacuum. Her brain-based, trauma-informed perspective helps her see the whole person sitting across from her, not just symptoms on a checklist.

Her background tells the story of someone genuinely committed to understanding human complexity:

  • Track and field athlete at Salisbury University who participated in neuropsychology research
  • Registered Behavioral Technician with autism experience
  • Former Community Connections clinician
  • Private practice experience before joining DCNE

When Emily conducts an ADHD assessment or provides therapy, she draws from attachment theory, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT), psychodynamic therapy, and play therapy insights. This integrative background means whether you’re seeking testing or ongoing therapy, you’re working with someone who understands the interconnected nature of mental health.

Emily specializes in:

  • ADHD assessments and ADHD therapy for teens and adults
  • Anxiety and depression evaluations and ongoing therapy
  • Trauma-informed psychological testing and treatment
  • Building therapeutic relationships that support both assessment and healing

What makes Emily different? She completed her Master’s Degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling at George Washington University right here in DC, so she understands the unique pressures of living in the metro area. Emily’s comprehensive training makes her a valuable asset for anyone seeking testing and therapy in the DMV area. Plus, her warm, collaborative style creates the kind of safety that helps authentic assessment results emerge and meaningful therapeutic progress happen.

Jasmine Phillips, MS, Psychology Associate. New member to the DCNE team as a Testing Therapist

Meet Jasmine Phillips, MS, Psychology Associate: Testing Therapist

The Testing Therapist who bridges forensic expertise with community care

Ms. Jasmine Phillips brings a rare combination of forensic psychology training and community mental health experience to DCNE. As a licensed Psychology Associate in both Maryland and DC, she’s perfectly positioned to serve our growing number of clients throughout the DMV area.

Her background is impressive and diverse. Jasmine earned her master’s degree in Forensic Psychology from George Washington University and Clinical Psychology from Sam Houston State University. This dual training gives her unique insight into complex psychological presentations that might stump other testing therapists.

Jasmine’s expertise covers:

  • Comprehensive psychological evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults
  • ADHD/ADD assessments with forensic precision
  • Neurodevelopmental disorder testing
  • Personality disorder evaluations
  • Depression and anxiety assessments

What sets Jasmine apart is her experience across diverse settings. She’s worked in forensic environments, community mental health, and private practice. This breadth of experience means she can adapt her testing approach whether you’re an anxious college student, a busy professional questioning adult ADHD, or a parent seeking answers for your child.

Her therapeutic approach incorporates CBT, DBT, Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and Motivational Interviewing. When Jasmine conducts psychological testing, she’s not just gathering data. She’s creating a therapeutic experience that helps you understand yourself better.

DCNE has always served clients throughout MD, and with Jasmine’s Maryland licensing, we can now offer quicker testing and assessment appointments for Baltimore and Maryland residents. This enhanced capacity means faster access to the same high-quality, thorough psychological evaluations we’re known for throughout the DMV area.
